LEGO Masters Audition Tips: My Journey from Builder to TV

Ever dreamt of showcasing your LEGO building skills on national television? With a new season of LEGO Masters around the corner, now’s your chance! Having gone through the casting process for Season 1 on Fox, I want to share some tips and experiences to help you prepare for your audition.

1. Be Yourself

The casting team is looking for genuine personalities, not just skilled builders. Show them who you are—your quirks, your passion for LEGO, and your unique story. Authenticity goes a long way.

2. Highlight Your Creativity

LEGO Masters is all about creativity. During the audition, showcase your most innovative builds and explain the thought process behind them. The more unique and imaginative your creations, the better.

3. Team Dynamics Matter

If you’re auditioning with a partner, demonstrate strong teamwork. Show how you collaborate, communicate, and complement each other's skills. The dynamic between team members is crucial for making an impression.

4. Be Ready to Improvise

During auditions, you might be asked to build something on the spot. Embrace the challenge and let your creativity flow. Remember, there’s no right or wrong answer—just build something that showcases your skills and originality.

5. Share Your LEGO Journey

The casting team loves a good story. Share your journey with LEGO—how you got started, what inspires you, and any memorable moments. This personal touch can set you apart from other candidates.

6. Practice, Practice, Practice

Leading up to the audition, spend time honing your building skills. Try replicating complex designs, experimenting with new techniques, and setting timed challenges for yourself. The more prepared you are, the more confident you’ll feel during the audition.

7. Stay Positive and Have Fun

Auditions can be nerve-wracking, but try to stay positive and enjoy the experience. The casting team is rooting for you, and a positive attitude can make a lasting impression.

Final Thoughts

Auditioning for LEGO Masters is an incredible opportunity to share your passion for LEGO with the world. Remember to be yourself, showcase your creativity, and most importantly, have fun. Good luck, and may the bricks be ever in your favor!
